Description: The state wildflower of Texas (actually, all six Lupinus species in Texas are official state flowers). One of the most popular wildflowers in Texas. Is widely planted as an ornamental along Texas highways. Is planted to some extent in southern Oklahoma. Endemic to Texas. Prefers calcareous soils and can occur as far north as southern Oklahoma. Can spread as a result of poor grazing management.
